Janet Noh is a classically trained pianist and pop-R&B songwriter, singer, producer, and
musical theater writer originally from Seattle. An international award-winning pianist, Janet took a U-turn by starting her post-college career as a Wall Street investment banker after graduating from Yale with a degree in Economics and History. She came back to music after being awarded a musical theater writing scholarship to NYU-Tisch and upon graduating with a Master of Fine Arts, made her acting debut as a principal role on Broadway. Her musical works include THE ISLAND CLUB (commissioned by Chicken Soup for the Soul Publishing LLC, licensed through Concord Theatricals), PANGAEA (The Frederick Loewe Foundation award recipient; developed by Live & In Color; Marymount Manhattan College), MODEL MINORITY (developed at Broadcast Music Inc. Lehman Engel Workshop), #BARS workshop with original Broadway cast of Hamilton (The Public Theater). As a performer, she made her Broadway singing debut in ROCKTOPIA and made her acting debut in MACK AND MABEL (Encores! New York City Center). She has also been a featured soloist at Lincoln Center, New York City Center, Public Theater, and Signature Theatre, among other large venues across the world. She has been a songwriting teaching artist at Lincoln Center Theater, a guest songwriter at Columbia University, a guest composer/faculty at Borough of Manhattan Community College, and a guest teaching artist at Marymount Manhattan College. Janet believes music is the universal language of the heart. She loves to explore combining eclectic musical influences - the timelessness of classical music, the drama inherent in musical theater storytelling, and the modern soundscape of pop songwriting & production - to create a unique and relatable experience that speaks to the heart. Janet is based in New York City. Janet wrote songs for the feature film Anastasia (Paramount Pictures, Amazon, Disney+), and is currently developing several new musicals as well as a full concept album of original music. She is currently a resident songwriting artist at Lincoln Center Theater. As an independent artist, her debut EP "Love Me More" was released in September 2023 and within a month hit 250,000 streams on Spotify.
